Functionality

This module is an example of the interface and layout of Search Help Exits in Search Help.

All the interface parameters defined are mandatory for any function module that is used as a Search help exit, since the calling program does not know which parameters will actually be used.

A Search help exit can be called at several times during the input help process. In CALLCONTROL-STEP the system returns the step that the process has reached. If the module is intended to carry out only a few modifications before that step, CALLCONTROL-STEP should remain unchanged.

However if the step is carried out completely by the module, the following step must be returned to CALLCONTROL-STEP.

The module must react to any step that it does not recognize, or that it does not want to deal with, by exiting at once.
