FS_API_BPID001_GETLIST - Read External Identification Numbers for a Business Partner

Functionality

The function module FS_API_BPOID001_GETLIST provides all external identification numbers that are saved for a business partner in an SAP System. This could be a driver's license number or a pension insurance number for a person. The function module could issue a corporate group key or a VAT ID number for a company, for example.

The function module uses two types of import parameters to identify the business partner for which it is to provide external identification numbers. On the one hand the function module can analyze the internal partner identification for the SAP System, partner number, and partner GUID. On the other hand an external partner identification can also be used, that is either an external identification number or an external identification category. If the partner is not available or cannot be identified uniquely then the system issues an error message.

If the external identification number or the external identification category is used as an inbound parameter, then the system issues the SAP internal partner number that is determined by the inbound parameter in addition to the list of results with external function numbers. The user of this function module can then determine for which business partner the system has provided the external identification number and whether this is the correct business partner.

The function module issues an error message if needed, as well as a list of results of external identification numbers and internal partner numbers.

The function modules searches the list of import parameters in this order and issues the identification number for the first parameter that in finds. If only an internal partner number and an internal partner GUID exist, for example, then the system analyzes the internal partner number but not the internal partner GUID.

The external identification category is usually uniquely assigned to one partner, even if the term "category" suggests otherwise. In this case the identification category is treated as an identification number; all external identification numbers are included in the output list.

There are of course cases whether the identification category is not directly assigned to a partner; in these cases the system does not generate an output list. Instead the system reports the error that there is no unique partner available.

The identification category is uniquely assigned to a partner if the fields MULTIPLE and UNEQU are blank in the table TBPID.

The parameters for the control structure IS_GENERAL use only the switches AUTHORITY and CHANGE_DOCU in this function module. If the switch AUTHORITY is set then the authorization check is carried out. If the switch CHANGE_DOCU is set then change documents are generated.
