Functionality

This function module is called from Personnel Time Management. It is used to determine the new start and end dates for the period in which leave rolls over from accrual to entitlement.

It is only valid if the quota type has the transfer type set to flexible transfer rule.

Example

A quota type is set to roll over after 10 years. An employee takes 2 weeks leave without pay (LWOP) thereby extending the transfer date to 10 years and 2 weeks after his or her hiring date. Hence, if the employee was hired on January 1st, 1999, the transfer date will now be January 15th, 2009.

If the quota type is configured to accrue on a monthly basis, generally the rollover amount will not include leave accrual for the period January 1st, 2009 to January 15th, 2009.

The system calls this function after the accrual period dates have been calculated. In this example, this would be after the begin date of January 1st, 2009 and the end date of January 31st, 2009. The system then checks the current date that leave is being calculated for and returns the dates for the month around this date. Hence, if the current date (derived from RPTIME00) is January 15th, 2009, the function module returns the begin date of January 1st, 2009 and the end date of January 15th, 2009. If the function module is called on January 31st, 2009, it will return the begin date of January 16th, 2009 and the end date of January 31st, 2009.
