HU_SET_COMBINATION - Announcement of the Link Between HU Items <-> IMSEG

Functionality

If a goods movement involving an HU-managed storage location is to be posted, the handling units involved in this posting must be notified of the movement before the goods movement function (MB_CREATE_GOODS_MOVEMENT) is called up.

The handling unit items to post must be linked to the relevant line for the goods movement posting (IMSEG).
The link table is made available to packing via this function module.

Additionally, packing must be informed when the goods movement is a reversal of a goods movement, otherwise a goods receipt reversal is valuated as a goods issue, and the HUs receive the wrong status.

Example

A posting change is to be made for 20 pieces of material MAT1, which is currently split between handling units HU1 and HU2 (10 pieces each). Movement type 311 is to be used, and the posting change is to be made from storage location 0001 to storage location 0002. Storage location 0002 is HU-managed. There is only one row in the table of material movements to be posted and two handling unit items.

The link table appears as follows:

Notes

Posting partial quantities of a handling unit item is only possible for the exception goods issue and goods receipt. If you only post a part of a HU item for GI, this quantity is automatically unpacked from the HU. A partial quantity posting with GR movement always affects quantities that were not contained in the HU before the posting. They are packed into the HU at posting. To post partial quantities of an item, you must enter the data Quantity and Movement Type. For serialized material, the serial numbers must also be entered in the separate table.
All materials in a handling unit must exist in an HU storage location or a non-HU-managed storage location. However, it is possible for handling unit items to exist at different storage locations, as long as these storage locations are found within the same warehouse number and display the same attribute with regard to HU management.
