Functionality

You can use this Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) to flag the master record of a piece of equipment for deletion. You would set the deletion flag in a piece of equipment, for example, if it was scrapped a long time ago and the master record is also no longer needed for evaluation or statistical purposes.

After you have set the deletion flag, a preprocessing program checks whether there are still any active dependencies belonging to that piece of equipment in the system. If not, the program automatically sets the deletion indicator for the master record.
