Functionality

You can use this Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) to deactivate the master record of a functional location. You would deactivate a reference functional location, for example, if there are no longer any functional locations that refer to it because this structure type was replaced a long time ago by a more modern one. However, the master record is still needed for evaluation or statistical purposes.

After you have deactivated a functional location you can still change the master record. However, no new maintenance objects, such as notifications or orders, can be created for the deactivated functional location.
