Functionality

The Text entry/Ad design function allows you to access a dialog screen in the technical system from IS-M/AM to enter and design an ad spec. The Text entry/Ad design function can be accessed at all order levels in IS-M/AM at which an ad spec can be assigned. These include:

  • Item
  • Sub-item
  • Schedule line

All ad spec data that is relevant to production is made available to the technical system using the Text entry/Ad design interface.

You return to IS-M/AM processing by terminating technical processing. IS-M/AM transfers all data required for pricing.

If an ad has more than one ad spec, you must enter the ad spec data in IS-M/AM and access the Text entry/Ad design function for each ad spec. Ad spec data cannot be created when you design an ad spec in the technical system but must be transferred to the technical system by IS-M/AM.

Ad specs are saved by the technical system. The system assigns an ad spec to a technical order once order entry is complete and the Create/save ad production order function is accessed. IS-M/AM transfers the number that identifies the ad spec. The ad spec number is also used during order processing to access the associated ad spec file in the technical system if changes are made to the text or design of the ad spec.

Customer-specific artwork is only recorded in the technical system and assigned to the ad specs in this system. The same applies to borders and samples. The system transfers business partner data to the technical system for advertiser-specific selection. If the actual text is not entered until a later stage, you can use the interface function to create an ad spec that simply contains references to the respective objects.

If IS-M/AM is used without an integrated technical system, you can record a comment for the objects to be used. The system returns the amount of artwork used to IS-M/AM and this information can be used for pricing.

The interface is provided with information about whether the content of an ad spec can be modified or whether it is for display only. The technical system also informs IS-M/AM whether the content was actually modified in the change mode. If this is the case, the system updates the change version number of the header and ad specs transferred accordingly. This ensures that the user is asked whether they want to update the order in IS-M/AM and if this is the case it ensures that the order is transferred to the technical system using the Create/save ad production order interface function.

The technical system is also informed whether it should access the ad design editor directly or whether it should first access an administrative level for assigning logos, artwork or samples.

If the interface is accessed with blank parameters, this indicates to the technical system that the order whose ad specs were last designed has been exited in IS-M/AM. The template on which the last ad spec edited was displayed can then be cleared in the editor.

One ad spec is usually transferred during each access. The system only transfers two sub ad specs collectively if a gutter bleed ad spec is exploded into two linked sub ad specs in IS-M/AM. The ad spec that is currently being designed appears as the first sub ad spec in the table. The technical system is then able to decide whether both ad specs are to be designed collectively or separately.

Ad spec data and assignments that are changed in production as a result of technical restrictions can be returned to IS-M/AM by the technical system. If an ad spec is created in the technical system, an ad spec record with a blank ad spec number must be transferred to IS-M/AM. If an ad spec assignment is created in the technical system, the production schedule line with the ad spec ID that is to be assigned to the IS-M/AM schedule line must be transferred to IS-M/AM and marked for subsequent processing.

Callbacks to IS-M/AM:

  1. FU.ISP_CHIFFRENR_GET>Box number
It is possible to request a box number for a box number ad from the technical system within the Text entry/Ad design function call if you want to copy the box number into the ad text. You must transfer the box number location and a box number indicator to the technical system. The box number location can be preassigned from the sales office.
If an ad has been created as a box number ad, the box number generated is transferred to the technical system meaning that callback is not required.
If a box number is obtained using callback, the box number must be returned to IS-M/AM when you terminate the RFC connection so that the box number recipient can be processed accordingly in this system.
If it is not possible to assign a box number, because for example the item category does not allow box number processing or no box number location exists, this information is returned using an exception.
  1. FU.ISP_PRICING_TS>Pricing
It is possible to access IS-M/AM pricing for the ad spec that is currently being processed in the technical system within the Text entry/Ad design function call. The callback routine provides the user with an effective function for calculating prices. A price is determined on the basis of the booking unit by multiplying by the technical dimensions. Specific business partner details such as contract discount or surcharges are not evaluated by this function.
If pricing is accessed from the technical system, it is performed on the basis of an ad spec. The result of this pricing run does not have to be identical to the result of pricing in IS-M/AM since prices are found here on the basis of a billing dataset.
You can assign ad specs to any billing dataset, Several ad specs can

belong to a billing dataset and several billing datasets can belong to an ad spec. Assignment is dependent on the number of dates, advertisers and ad specs that have been entered for this order and the rules that can be used to generate billing datasets. Multiple assignments mean that you can only transfer selected ad spec, header, and item data, the first advertiser assignment and the first billing dataset for the item to pricing from the technical system. if data is used in pricing that cannot be transferred (search field, requirement or formula), this can produce a variety of results.
