Operands

Input operands

DEMAND Active power
DEMAND Reactive power

Output operands

FACTOR Cosinus phi

Functionality

The cosinus phi is calculated from the active and reactive power. In this calculation, the demand in the first operand is active power, and the demand in the second operand is reactive power.

Note that the calculation of the relevant demand values is based only on the operand name and the allocated demand values. Entries made at the register level regarding usage as an active or reactive register are not taken into account.

Cos phi is calculated as follows:
Cos phi = 1/SQRT ((reactive*reactive)/(active*active) + 1)

Cosinus phi is determined as follows in these cases:
Reactive = 0, active > 0 ==> cos phi = 1
Reactive > 0, active = 0 ==> cos phi = 0
Reactive = 0, active = 0 ==> cos phi = 0

Cosinus phi is determined according to time slices based on changes to the demand values. The cosinus phi is then updated (-> operand update). In most cases, the calculated demand for the billing period is the same for the active and reactive power. In certain cases - when the "Demand per month" indicator is set in the operand, for example - several different demand values exist for which the cosinus phi is determined. In this calculation, these demand values are prorated accordingly.

Example

The cosinus phi is determined so that the demand value to be billed can be adjusted in subsequent variants if necessary.
