Operands

Input operands

QUANT Quantity to be written to statistics

Output operands

None

Functionality

A quantity is written to statistics. This variant generates a billing line item so that the system can carry out the statistical update. However, this billing line item is not relevant to posting and it is automatically ignored during bill printout.

You are required to specify sub-transactions; this enables statistical analyses according to sub-transactions.

This variant is irrelevant if you do not set the Amount is statistically relevant indicator in the schema for the variant. The Quantity is statistically relevant indicator is not taken into account.

Info lines and control options

None

Example

A customer whose register is read monthly is billed with a flat rate, meaning the measured consumption does not affect the amount determination. However, the measured consumption must be written to the sales statistics. For this to occur, you must allocate a rate type to the register although it is not actually relevant to billing. The rate that is determined with this rate type contains this variant.

Another example is when consumption that is determined via different schema steps is required in sales statistics for analytical purposes only.

When you design and/or analyze the sales statistics provided by the Utilities Information System (UIS), you must take certain measures to ensure that the consumption written with QUANTI20 in this example does not appear in total sales statistics.
