Functionality
The function determines the correct source for each field of the OIL-TPI external TPS control structure. Both logical level and physical level TPS control structures are presented to the function. For each field, if a non-initial value is available in the logical level control structure, this will be used, otherwise the value in the physical level control structure will be used. If the field in the physical level control structure is initial, an initial value will be returned in the resulting TPS control structure.
Example
A system administrator has defined control information for an external TPS at the physical level with one exception - the default bulk shipment type is set at the logical level for one of the three Transport Planning Point representations (i.e. logical level) representations of the external TPS. TPS control information retrieval for this TPP representation uses the logical level specification of the default bulk shipment type, rather than the physical level specification.
Notes
The function is also able to process fields which are subsequently appended to the external TPS control structure, because it performs the field comparisons based on a dynamically determined field list rather than a fixed set of MOVE statements.
