OIUHS_TRUNCATE_FROM_RIGHT - Return the leftmost characters in a text string

Functionality

This function returns the left characters in a text string. This function is used for 1:1 mappings where the source and target data types match and the source length is greater than the target length. The function removes characters from the right side, leaving data on the left.

Suggested input parameters are: 1) input text string and 2) target string length.

Example

Input text string = 123456

Target string length = 3

Output text string = 123
