Functionality

The iPPE object line balance is identified by an internal and external identification.

The external identification of a line balance is the name of the line balance (LINEBAL_NAME).

As iPPE APIs work with the internal identification of the line balance, the external identification must be converted into the internal identification using this API. If the external identification identifies an existing line balance, an ID is returned and the EXISTENCE field is given the value 'X'. If the external identification does not identify an existing line balance, a new identification is allocated and the EXISTENCE field is given the value ' '.

This API buffers newly allocated identifications. That is, this API always gets the same internal identification when one external identification is called several times.
