Functionality

iPPE reporting points are identified by an internal and an external identification.

The external identification of a reporting point is the name of the reporting point (REPPOINT_NAME).

As iPPE APIs work with the internal identifications of reporting points, the external identification must be converted into the internal identification by this API. If the external identification identifies an existing reporting point, its ID is delivered and the EXISTENCE field is set to 'X'. If the identification does not identify an existing reporting point, a new identification is allocated and the EXISTENCE field is set to ' '.

This API buffers newly allocated identifiers. That is, this API always gets the same internal identification when an external identification is called more than once.
