Functionality

The function RCP729_FIND_USING_SES is used for the full-text search for recipes.

This function is called when you start a search in the recipe information system.

The system searches for the specified character string in the following objects:

  • Recipe
  • Formula
  • Material
  • Specification
  • Document

If you select the Fuzzy Mode indicator, the system also searches for similar character strings if, for example, the search term contains spelling errors.

You can restrict the search by other parameters.

Requirements

To be able to use a search engine, you first have to make it available in the system. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver, choose Application Server -> Enterprise Search -> Search Engine Service.
  2. You connect the search engine to the system in the Make System Settings for Search Engine Service activity. You edit the relevant business objects in the Define Business Objects for Search Engine Service activity.
  3. You schedule a regular job that creates an index for the following objects:
  • Recipe

  • Formula

  • Specification

  • Material

  • Document

To do this, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Tools -> Administration -> Monitor -> Search Engine -> SES Index Monitor.
