RLFW_ACTIVATE_READ_ONLY_MODE - Set a tenant to read-only mode and set the list of protected tables

Functionality

Activate the read only mode in this client. If the mode is activated in client 000, the entire system is in read-only mode.

During read-only mode some tables are write protected or even read and write protected. This function set locks / freeze triggers on those tables so that illegal accesses by any application raise an exception.

Call RLFW_IS_WRITE_PROTECTED to check if the system is in read-only mode of if any of the application relevant tables is affected.

Further information

This function is used by upgrade tools only.

Especially during a Zero Downtime Upgrade tables must be protected, because upgrade and productive use run in parallel. Customizing tables must be protected against write access on production side. Tables which are not to be used by the upgrade according to the upgrade definition shall not be written or even read.
