Functionality

This function module creates a new content version of a physical document.

A new content version can be created only if the original document is protected, and if the original is not currently checked out or reserved.

The new version inherits the document class, attributes, and the relationship to the logical document from the original document. A version reference relationship is established between the original and the new version.

After SDOK_PHIO_CREATE_NEW_VERSION has executed successfully, the new document version has the status "initial". As long as the document has this status, the content of the original is copied to the front-end computer when the new version is checked out or downloaded to the file system of the front-end computer.
