Functionality

This function module reconciles values and quota scales with the data in the Classification System. It expects the characteristic to be entered for which you want to reconcile. The value scale concerned can be passed on. If it is not, it is determined in the function module.

All characteristic values are read and compared with the items in the value scale. If there are any new characteristic values or any have been deleted, the value scale is changed accordingly. If characteristic values have been deleted, the quota scales concerned are also changed accordingly.

Before posting, the user can decide whether the changes should actually be made. This confirmation prompt can be suppressed by setting the transfer parameter i_suppress_dialog.

The necessary changes on the database are stored in the update tables. Then function module value_curve_update has to be called to carry out the changes.
