Functionality

The function module checks whether value scales are defined in the system for all variant-creating characteristics of the generic material transferred. This functionality is currently needed in the Purchase Order, to determine whether quota scales/manual entry of quotas can be used for distribution among the variants when Purchase Orders are changed.

If the generic material has more than two variant-creating characteristics, an exception is triggered.

The following values are expected:

  • The material number of the generic material
  • The material class (optional)
  • The plant/customer number (optional)
  • A table containing the variant-creating characteristics (optional)
  • A table containing the variants among which the quantity is to be distributed (optional)
The function module itself can provide the data for the tables named and the material class, if necessary.

Function module returns:

  • A flag for whether value scales exist for all the variant-creating characteristics.
