Use

The conversion from old salary points to new salary points has to be maintained here before running the report.

Maintenance

For each GNP Code defined in Table T5RPBSG0, this table has all those salary points on the existing scale that are to be mapped on to a common point on the new scale.

Each salary point old(O) or new(N) is defined uniquely by five points # Payscale area, Payscale type, ESG for CAP, Payscale group and Payscale level.

Any entry for an old or new salary point in this table must already exist in T510 table.

The field #GRPID# needs explanation. While applying the GNP logic to compute the next increase date it is needed to know how many old points are bracketed together to a new salary point.

Take for example Payscale group and level for simplicity:

1055/01 01 ----------------------------------------- 1065/01 02

1055/01 02------------------------------------------1065/01 02

In this case we can see that 2 points are bracketed together to the same new common point.

As per the current requirement ONLY POINTS WITHIN THE SAME SALARY SCALE are bracketed together.

However, take the following modification in the above scenario :

1055/01 01 -----------------------------------------1065/01 02

1055/01 02-----------------------------------------1065/01 02

1035/01 03------------------------------------------1065/01 02

In this case the count increases to 3.

To provide flexibility for the user to be able to exercise the choice whether POINTS ON DIFFERENT SALARY POINTS should also be allowed we have introduced a GRPID.

This becomes clear on considering the following 2 scenarios:

Scenario 1:

GRPID

1055/01 01 1-----------------------------------------1065/01 02

1055/01 02 1-----------------------------------------1065/01 02

1035/01 03 1------------------------------------------1065/01 02

Scenario 2:

GRPID

1055/01 01 1-----------------------------------------1065/01 02

1055/01 02 1-----------------------------------------1065/01 02

1035/01 03 2------------------------------------------1065/01 02

In scenario 1 all three points have the same GRPID so are considered bracketed together , so the count becomes 3

Whereas in scenario 2, the count is 2 and 1 .
