AS/400 and RS/6000 connection
Hi Cut,there are ways to communicate with RPG and COBOL on AS/400 with TCP/IP
ports. This is described in the IBM literature (I think there is an example
on the Infocenter CD asl well). But this is always a little bit tricky.
The question would be if this would really be necessary to communicate on
such a deep level. I would suggest to check if some FTP scripts may be
enough for your communication. On the other hand, you could install a
gateway on the AS/400 when you might want to use RFC services.
When the AS/400 is your gateway it should be possible to run FTP-scripts
from your RS/6000 immediately to the AS/400 of your principal.
