4.6D GUI
... and 377706 tells you how to determine the patch level ofa frontend installation using the SAPCheck utility.
We are currently analyzing a GUI problem and just today I had
to learn that the version number you see in the About... box
does not always tell you the patch level.
A Compilation 4 installation shows you 4640.4.255.2160
A Compilation 3 installation 4640.3.0.2132
A Compilation 1 installation 4640.2.0.2071
So there is again some documentation blur provided by SAP.
I don't know why THEY do it, but IBMers keep saying that
they do it "just to confuse the russians" - cold war is not
over, is it?
To Doreen's question 2: YES, we do have GUI problems which
go away by reinstalling even the same compilation.
We take this with humbleness and amazement, but it really
seems that reinstallation cures wear and tear...
