Sounds like you need a DB table conversion which is done via DB14. I would
recommend running this in DEV, ensure no data loss and a proper conversion,
then perform the following in subsequent systems:
1. Make a backup of the table
2. Import the configuration via transport request
3. Run DB14 in target system (if necessary)

My developer change the field length in the customize table, the table
contains data. It happens that the field length
for that particular customize table in the abap dictionary and database
level is inconsistent. Anyone out there
that have experience this? Please help.
