Background Job not Running Properly
Hey Fernando.Yes, I am very familar with the 'check status' option. I have BDC jobs
running now but I am still having to work on the transports.

We are on release 4.0B with V4R5M0 and when we went to kernel 802_COM we got
the same error (seemingly). Have you tried to "check status" of the jobs in
status "ready"? In my case it found that the job status was not correct and
put the "scheduled status".
If this is your case, all I can say is that if we cancelled (restarted) the
first batch work process and rescheduled the jobs they started working fine.
I'm working on this problem with Volker and we have reapplied last kernel
(level 749) and the problem has not repeated since.
It's nice to know "you're not alone" 😉

Volker,
Currently we are on release 4.6C, kernel level 540, with V4R5M0. We are
having problems with background jobs and TMS jobs running. We get the error
message 'Background Job not Running Properly. Please check the system....'
in the SLOG* files. I followed note 71353 I think but this did not fix the
problem. Jobs in SM37 are at a ready status even though there are BTC
sessions available.
I understand that there is a bug with V4R5 and the 4.6D kernel. What work
has been done on a fix patch and a date when it could be put on SAPSERV4?
And is there a quick fix solution that I can do to get transports and
background job running before I get skinned alive from someone here??
