Very special 4.6c upgrade problem
Hi SAPlings!This week we experienced a very serious problem in our test upgrade for our
IS-Hospital production system (test system, production data).
There is a 70 million record file (specific IS-Hospital for CH and AT)
which gets processed by an xPRA report which tried to do 70 millions
of single updates in one transaction.
We found a very serious performance problem with this
and do not yet know if its a pure ABAP problem, a pure
DB2 UDB problem or (most probable) a mixture of both.
I have opened a SAP ticket (175 99 68 cust# 20836)
and an IBM PMR 64342.
This morning the machine came back from a 19 hour ROLLBACK for
the first 20 millions UPDATEs and our BASIS consultant from Plaut AG
(GOOOOD guy) is recovering the upgrade...

Take a look into these and check if YOU can contribute to a creative
solution
or make connections to people who can help.
We currently have RED ALERT and NOGO for the production upgrade
because of this problem. We are in real trouble because we have too
less answers for too many open questions at the moment...
With no solution we will surely not be able to finish the upgrade in the
60 hour window the hospital has given to us. There is no hope for extending
this window because of medical schedules...
