Line stuck in RCYPND

Hi Greg,

Back in October we were having a similar problem on a single SB3; my concern
with your issue seems that you are pointing at every AS/400 having a problem.
Can the AS/400 ping itself from it's console? This supposedly rules out the
ethernet card if it can.
Can they ping each other from their consoles?
Have you tried (1 at a time) changing the different points of failure?
As you know this will take some time to flush out

Example -
1. Fiber cable running from ethernet card to network hub (replace cable)
2. Port on network hub (move to another port)
3. Patch cable from network hub to network switch (replace cable)
4. Port on network switch (move to another port)
5. And lastly the ethernet card (replace card)

Subject: Line stuck in RCYPND

Hello to all! This is more of an AS/400 question, but it effects our SAP
system.
Lately we have been having problems with our network connections to our
AS/400's. For some reason, and not during our busiest periods of the day,
our network the AS/400's are on appears to lock up and we can not ping our
machines or reach SAP. On our AS/400's, the line stays active for some
time, but on our production system the line eventually fails and reaches a
status of RCYPND. After the production machine's line fails we can reach
our development machine and SAP on development. When this happened to
production, we had to stop SAP and TCP/IP. Vary off the line. Vary it
back on, start TCP/IP and then start SAP.
Just wondering if anyone has some input on to why this may be happening. I
have had some heated discussions over the network vs. the AS/400 being the
problem.
I want to rule out the ethernet card on the AS/400 being the culprit in
this problem.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
As always, thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Greg
