Operating system Matrix for Transport of customizations
Yes, the cofiles are ebcdic, but when you ftp them to an ascii machine,
they are normally converted automatically without you having to do
anything.
The data files are binary, so you type "bin" on the tcp command line before
moving those, so they move without being converted.
Here's an example...
ftp asciimachine
user: xyz
password: abc
>cd '/usr/sap/trans/cofiles'
>put cofile.123
>cd '/usr/sap/trans/data'
>bin
>put data.123
>quit

Thanks for your response.
But, the exported transport orders files by OS/400 are of EBCDCII code
machine that the Tru64 UNIX does not read. How can I change this code
machine to ASCII (Not yet I am sure about its code machine and I am
supposing it is of ASCII) before importing the transports?

Transport files are platform independent, so they can be imported wherever
you want.

Shall anyone have experience or knowledge about the feasibility in
transporting the exported orders from OS/400 V4R5M0 as the input for
importing into a SAP R/3 of the same version as the original (4.6C) but
different platform, Compaq Tru64 UNIX version 5.1.
