SQ01, SQ02 & SQ03

Chirs,

Good for you! Like Mike at Sola, we have a runaway analyst who lives to
write queries! They churn and churn and churn ...

Betsy

Hello Betsy.

Well, I guess I won the battle for the moment. Our auditors have agreed to
let me lock all the SQ* trans. from being used. We are planning on trying
to use report painter and ABAP reports. Time will tell I guess.

Thanks
Chris

Chris,

Our policy is everyone has SQ00 (run a query), only super well-trained
users have SQ01 and they can only create Queries in their own user group.
No one except Basis, Developers, and the Business Analyists have access to
SQ02 and SQ03. I'm have strong feelings about SQ03 being given to the
BA's, but I lost that battle.

Good luck,
Betsy Strebe

I have a request for granting transactions SQ01, SQ02 & SQ03 to a user.
Looking at these, it looks like they are used for creating queries in SAP.
I have numerous issues with allowing an enduser access to these codes.

Resource usage with large tables.
Security issues with tables.
Adding/removing users from query user groups.
Being able to monitor user usage of queries ran/created/deleted
from
an enduser.

I strongly feel that no user except for BASIS should have access to these
tcodes. Does anyone allow these codes to be used on your system today? If
so, could you expalin/diagram your security set up with each transaction?
Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance,
