Transport Performance

We were also able to greatly improve performance (at least under 3.1H) by
cleaning out the "buffer" entry: "/usr/sap/trans/buffer/PRD" in our case. It
still didn't match "local" import speed on the TST system, but it did make PRD
considerably better.

Hi Andi,

unfortunately I believe that this are figures that may be OK. You perhaps
may want to check if the performance enhances when you increase the TCP/IP
buffer:
CHGTCPA TCPRCVBUF(2097152) TCPSNDBUF(2097152)
(You have to restart at least TCP/IP in order to take effect)

The last choice in order to reduce the downtime of your PRD system
(especially when you want to be on the save site) you should move your
trans-dir to the PRD-system. You are at least sure that you can import
whenever the PRD system is up, and it is a lot faster for the PRD system.

Regards

Volker
