SAP Spool File Number not displayed in OUT Q
I have created a series of programs (CLP/CBL) to change the AS400 Spool FileName and User Data to TSP01-RQ2NAME. It makes use of APIs QSPGETF and
QSPPUTF. It is running fine for R/3 4.5B on V4R4.
However, I would like to test to see if it will work on higher SAP and OS
releases. If anyone's able to help, I can save these to a *SAVF and post it
to the consolut Groups share folder.

We use "U"; haven't touched that setting in 4 years
We'll give "C" a try

Chris: Are you using spool type "C" or "U"? When we first came up, we were
told to use "U", pointing to the '400. Looks like "C" does the same thing
only better: with "C", I keep the number, like your example, plus I don't
get a separate job for each output request, like I do with "U".

We are at release 4.6C/4.6D Kernel(540), with V4R5M0 operating system. Our
outqs look like this:

Back when we were SAP 3.1H running on V4R3 operating system, we were able to
reconcile SAP spool request numbers against entries in the AS/400 OUTQ.
The SAP spool request # would be displayed under the "user data" column in
the OUTQ display on the AS/400.
Now that we are 4.6C w/4.6D kernel V4R5 Operating System; there is just some
"garbly gook" being written to the "user data" column; an example is spool
requestZ 19303 is displayed as 000gnzWr.P in the OUTQ
Is this a new feature?
