BEST/1 is not "dead" yet... it will be supported through to the end of
OS/400 V5R1. One of the main benefits of BEST/1 is that it makes estimates
of response times, which maybe (?) important in considerations of upgrading
SAP to later versions, as well as disk arm usage - most other approaches
mainly focus on CPU usage.
Also, it is not replaced by Operation Navigator, because Ops Nav does not
have a Capacity Planning facility - but an excellent graphical, performance
monitoring capability in addition to its wealth of other functions.

Why is Best/1 still in the course, is the product not "dead" and replaced
