AS/400 820 015x expandability

Hi Folks,

Sizing for a new production platform I noticed the new 820 zero interactive
cpw procs (0150 0151 0152). We have a 270 zero interactive cpw running R/3
now so I know that it works in a SAP R/3 46C environment (at V4R5).

While the biggest 820 0152 CPW 3700 or so seems adequate I am not sure in
the long run and wonder if this series will be extended and will be
upgradeable (either in the 820 or 830 or 840 series or whatever) . Does
anyone have any knowledge about bigger zero interactive cpu's being
developed/marketed that can be upgraded to from the 820 015x procs? There
are no existing upgrade paths between the 015x procs and the 'normal' 8xx
procs and/so I don't want to end up in the 170 or 270 throw it in the bin
scenario.

Zero interactive CPU's for R/3 are the way to go so I can only hope IBM
realizes this.

Thanks,

Tom van Rooyen
