Midrange Computing Magazine closes down
Hi Matt,It sure came as a surprise to me. I spoke to my sales rep (actually she
called me as I have permanent ads with them) and she was as surprised as
anybody else. She even confirmed that the magazine was actually doing
well. They even had some good offers which the parent company apparently
did not want to take.
I agree that it's sad as I had subscribed to that magazine for the
longest time.
Well, I guess we have to do with the ISeries Magazine and News/400.

MIDRANGE COMPUTING CLOSES ITS DOORS

Last Thursday, Midrange Computing's parent company, IIR,
pulled the plug on the publication, laying off 66 employees. MC's
magazine has served the midrange community since 1983. A former
employee confirmed that the company is shutting down its print
publication, Web site, and e-mail newsletters.
"I've enjoyed the competition over the years," said Wayne Madden,
AS400 Network publisher and editor in chief, "and it's sad to see
this happen to so many people in this industry."
