GLOBAL Change to SERVICES file on PC's

Hi Doreen,

try this

Zif exist c:\services.done goto nothing
Zecho sapmsDEV 3610/tcp >>c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\services
Zecho sapmsTST 3620/tcp >>c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\services
Zecho done >c:\services.done
:nothing

You can run this within the logon script. Though you might want to check on the
Operating system
(ECHO %OS%) to find out where the services file is. The ">>" ensure that data is
appended to the services file
Once everything is done you might also want to delete c:\services.done via a
script

Hope this helps

Martin

Subject: GLOBAL Change to SERVICES file on PC's

We are moving forward with implementing LOGON LOAD BALANCING for redundancy /
high availability across our app servers
To do this, we need to add 3 lines to the SERVICES file on every PC to
identify the message server location
eg.
sapmsDEV 3610/tcp
sapmsTST 3620/tcp

With the potential of every SERVICES file to be unique on each PC (based on
installed PC software); we want to just "slip in the 3 lines" vs replacing the
SERVICES file

Anyone know of any tools to assist in automating this process?

Thanks
Doreen
