Error Code 3029:System Busy
We have stopped most of the 3029 error codes from occurring except when a
report creates an extract or sort file, it is still putting it in
'/usr/sap/PRD/DVEBMGS00/data'. This directory is being replicated to our
DEV system.
We have a few reports that always create sort/extract files that are ran
daily. I have created another directory and defined it in the Instance
Profile with the DIR_SORTTMP & DIR_EXTRACT parameters, located in
'/usr/sap/extsrtfiles'.
The reports are still using '/usr/sap/PRD/DVEBMGS00/data' when creating the
files, instead of the *DIR I have defined. Do I need to do anything else to
make it use the new *DIR?
Thnx,
Chris

Hi Chris,
I suspect that you can or do recreate your extracts every night or week from
scratch. So it is up to you if it would be feasable for you to have for a
specific timewindow no access to these kind of extracts (normally necessary
for special "fast" resports).
As the disableing of these directories makes the HA environment and the
running SAP a lot more stable I would say you should try and leave it turned
off till the point of time that your HA vendor supports the new
IFS-journaling stuff with V5R1 in there software that there is no backup
with SAV of an IFS file necessary any more as the changes are put to a
journalreceiver and only this data needs to be replicated (without any locks
on the IFS objects) to the other system.
Regards
Volker
