AS400 backing up NT
Hi Gary,Instead of going the route of getting your NT data to the AS/400 you
might as well consider getting an IBM LTO tape drive, like the 3580 or
3581 (with the appropriate SCSI card for an NT box). We have an 3581 on
our 270, which works just fine. You can fit about 200MB on a single
cartridge and the transfer rate is about 15MB. There are 2 models of
that tape, one for AS/400 (H models) and another for Unix, NT system (L
models).
The nice part is that IBM just recently had dropped the prices on both
models.
As far as the software goes my understanding is that you could use any
windows backup software with the drive.
