Background processing
We've seen it already where a job that's submitted to run "immediately" andcan't, because of some system problem or just the fact that all the batch work
processes are already full, sometimes hang later when the batch w/p are now
available. We've let them go several minutes without starting automatically.
We change the job to "start immediately" again, and they run just fine.
We are on the old 4.6D kernel, though, so maybe we're having the problem that
Volker described.

Kevin,
You can try to end the WP's that seem to be asleep. Once they start back
up, they should start processing jobs.

Hi all, we had a situation this morning for about 20 minutes where no new
background jobs would run, even though there were several released and 6
background work processes free. After that period new background jobs became
active but those that were waiting while background was not running are
still sitting in the released state with background work processes
available. Any ideas why it stopped in the first place and what we can do to
get these jobs to run?
