Backup Jobs hanging with BRM1483 after applying SF65708
Hi group,since we've installed SF65708 a few weeks ago, most (but not all !?) of our
backup jobs using BRMS run into msg BRM1483 saying that the mounted tape
contains active files and cannot be used for backup. When we mount a scratch
tape manually the backup runs fine for the rest and even is able to mount
subsequent tapes properly. According to Rochester, this malfunction was
caused by SF65708 and should be fixed by SF66558, which we applied last
weekend. But the problem still exists! Now IBM announced another PTF for the
end of November.
Since some overnight backups run into that error and waiting for response
C/R (we don't have a 3 shift shop), while other jobs which wouldn't have
that 1483 problem are locked because tape units not available, our entire
backup scenario is upside down. Worst of all the backup of our PRD system is
mostly affected.
We are at OS/400 V4R5 with BRMS V4R4, Tapedrives are 3590 Mod. E
Has anyone out there the same problem and can advise a workaround to get the
backup working again?
