I am moving on
As some of you may know I have been working in the IBM/SAP competencecenter for the last two years, focussed only on the AS/400 and then the
iSeries. One of the most pleasurable parts of my two years has been seeing
the gradual evolution of this forum from a very active mailing list to
much more than that. I have had the chance to meet some of you at various
forums and events, so I can say that the mailing list has turned the SAP on
iSeries group into a real community.
But, for myself, it is time ot move on. After two years in Germany, my
family and I move back to Canada ( Toronto to be exact - Markham to be even
more exact). As both my wife and son speak German now, they are well
placed to keep me in total ignorance of what is really going on; possibly,
a different language is not needed. From a job perspective, I will be
starting a new role working with IBM software, moving away from both the
iSeries and SAP. But, as usual, you never know - I'll probably end up
explaining iSeries software to SAP customers.
I look forward to moving home, of course, but I will miss my 'old' home in
Germany, and my partnership with the iSeries community. Thanks for making
this such a wonderful two years.
