ASCII and EBCDIC question
ASCII and EBCDIC systems can run on the same server. No problem. Youcannot share kernels between the ascii and ebcdic version.

Alan

Subject: ASCII and EBCDIC question
Hi
We have an SAP R/3 sandbox system running on V5R1.
We wanted to install SAP CRM 3.0A sandbox on the same
LPAR. The pre-requisite for the install is that we
have to initialize the ASCII environment.
What will happen to the SAP R/3 which was running
earlier after initializing the ASCII environment? Will
I have any problems with the R/3 application or Do I
have to upgrade that database to ASCII version ?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Jay Manda
