BW on an AS400
Please be aware that there have been some recent announcements on discounts
for SAP on iSeries - I believe these are over and above any general iSeries
price changes:
A discount for customers moving to the GLS solution ( BW is available as a
GLS solution for 2.1C and 3.0)
Some interesting High Availability discounts that may allow you to also use
your HA machine for BW
In the US these are announce letters:
GLS: 302-056
HA: 302-063
For GLS, I am certain there is a similar program in Europe. All are based
on 8XX machines

Finally, there is the new '0' interactive 830 and 840, which means if you
have no 5250 stuff, you can use these systems at apprecialy lower costs.
You would have to work with your IBM rep or BP to see how all these work
together ( if you run BW on an HA '0 interactive system, I think IBM may
owe YOU money :-)!!

I'm sorry Henrik I'm asking these questions too. We haven't rolled this out
yet and we are looking at adding an AS400 for it. (Avoiding NT) I'm just
trying to get an idea of what people are using so I have a place to start
with pricing.

Gary,
We are using an 830 4-way LPAR'd. The BW partition is using 2 CPU's and
6GB of memory. We probably have about 150 users (not concurrent).

Quick question for the group. I have been asked to get pricing for BW on
the
AS400. However the company can't give me an "about" size possible 300 users
(not concurrent).
Could I get some replies as to what you are using: Hardware, concurrent
users, disk, and performance.
