SAPNet issues?

Chris,

all you really need is a small set of programs...a few MB.
Install them on a NT machine, verify the saprouter table (permissions etc),
change the Logon Pad
to refer to the IP of the NT machine and you are all set.

Unfortunately the secure protocol is not yet (anyone can correct me?) available
for the /400.

This is a fully standalone solution and you do not need to install any other SAP
components
on the NT. I would almost assume that you can even run it on a W2K workstation.

Does that setup work with the Solution Manager package being implemented
now?

Not that much on the technical side, however getting the software and link
established was a challenge.
You need to sign some export contract with SAP for the encryption software
and SAP has to enable the service.

Once that's done it's not that bad. We have the router running as a service
and I do not recall any problems.
Also, the router works - Gerd was referring to the SAP website - that seems
to be an issue between
Sprint and the Deutsche Telecom.

Hey Martin.

Have you had problems with that setup?

Hi Chris,

we go via the Windows2000 server as we got rid of our dedicated line.

Gerd,

Not sure if this will help or not but what does your SAPROUTER command
look
like? We had issues of timing out trying to connect to OSS last year.
We
changed a 'timeout setting' with the command and it works great now.
Our
command in the CL looks like this:

SBMJOB CMD(SAPROUTER PARMLIST('-r -W30000'))

I think the default for the wait time before timing out (-W30000) is
something lower.

Good luck,
Chris

I cannot connect since Sunday. I always time out.
