Multiple instances on iSeries
Hi all,we have SAP running on an iSeris 830 connected via fc to an IBM ESS Shark
storage system, about two months ago we migrated from R/3 40B to 46C.
Before performing the migration we had particularly good performances, now
the systems responsiveness if poor and after various tunings and
earlywatch sessions, a consultant of ours told me about the possibility of
running multiple instances instead of a single one in the same machine.
Today we have two "users groups" working on the same instance, for RFC as
well; the consultant proposal (in order to achieve better performances)
was substantially this:
instance #00: to be used for group "A" users only
instance #01: to be used for group "B" users only
instance #02: to be used for RFC
Do you think we could get better performance through this load-balancing ?
Any ideas ?
Your opinions welcome.
