High Availability Solution - Switched during V5R1 upgrade?
For those shops using a "High Availability" software solution:With the added "twist/complexity" of needing to perform the STROBJCVN after the
V5R1 upgrade and prior to using SAP again;
Has anyone upgraded their "target" box to V5R1 and ran the STROBJCVN (which
technically changes their target objects);
then started up their replication again (journal V4R5 entries being written to a
V5R1 box - also need special ptfs just in case you would have to "switch" to the
target box which you would then have the need to write V5R1 journals to the V4R5
box)
A couple of weeks later then; switch the business to the TARGET V5R1 box and
perform the upgrade to the SOURCE V4R5 box and STROBJCVN
Then switch back applying the journal changes from the HA box back to the
primary DB
This was confusing to type.......basically, has anyone had their business
"switched" to their target HA box during the V5R1 upgrade to the production box
and therefore their business did not have to come down during the upgrade?
