Memory Management
Hi Christine, sorry, but all these SAP values do NOT reflect to the base pool size on iSeries
at all!
On other platforms, there are maximum values, because the memory management gets
poor if you do have too few physical memory. This is fortunately no problem at
all on iSeries.
So, the only point, you have to think of:
How many memory do my users need ?
If you don't know at all, set em/initial_size_MB to 8096. All the other
parameters are not that critical as they are normally "per user". If they
wouldn't fit at the moment, your users would already complain.
But em/initial_size_MB is a value for all users. This one normally goes to the
roof at the first live date, if it was too small.
How many users are you having ?
Regards
Volker

Hi Group,
Question, if I have a machine that has a total of 4.15GB in the BASE pool,
which is the pool assigned to SAP, what should my em/initial_size_MB set at?
Also, same questions for all the ztta/roll parms and the abap/heap parms?
We are going live in 2 weeks and the system is definitely not running at its
best.
Thanks in Advance,
Chris
