Hi Alan.

We are on a 4.6C system for all instances and 4.6D for KW so we should not
have an issue with the CCMS job I believe but thanks for the warning.

Just updating Andi's comment - there is one small flaw with solution manager
for 3.1i - there is no CCMS Agent available for I-Series and as a
consequence a reasonable amount of functionality is missing from the
Earlywatch report. Apart from that and the lack of business process mapping
know how I'd echo Andi's comments.

We installed Solution manager ourselves.... I installed SAP on an W2000
server (with MS SQL) WAS 6.20... worked fine & pretty much first time with
no real uglies in their...

The only thing/issue we had was the patching of the system, because when the
software (WAS) was shipped from SAP there was no Patch CD so I had to
download them all from the web, and solution manager requires quite a
high(ish) level of patch to work...

A couple of other guys (Chris Hinchcliffe, who also posts here) got to work
on setting the landscape & configuring the "Earlywatch" style reports & this
works fine.. I believe we now have 3 systems on 3.1i & 3 on 4.6C all
reporting through this single Solution manager server.

We haven't as yet configured any of the business process monitoring, as SAP
cant tell how to !!!!, also, we haven't gone as far as yet as using the
helpdesk style functionality...but we will..!

So, to get it installed & Earlywatch reporting - FREE, cos it is relatively
quite simple & all the instructions work.!!

Can anyone tell me the exact cost for the consultants and onsite training if
you use the starter pack for Solution Manager?

Also, if you have already implemented SM, it would be great if you had the
time if you could tell me if there are any surprises with installing it and
how it's working for your company.

We are planning on implementing the WAS 6.XX version on a WIN2000 SQL server
by the 4th/1st quarter of either 2002 or 2003.
