Use of the ZPDF Output Device for Internet Mai l
Here's an excerpt from note 311037:Before you can use access method 'M', you need to execute Report
RSPO0075 and activate access method 'M'. It is then available in
Transaction SPAD. There, create a device (e.g. named MAIL) with access
method 'M'.

Subject: Use of the ZPDF Output Device for Internet Mail
We are running SAP 4.6C on OS400 V4R5. We currently have SAP
configured to out Lotus Notes Server for sending emails. The setup
witrhin SAP consists of the RFC destination (SM59) being defined to
use a registered program from Lotus Notes. Then the SapConnect Node
for Internet is setup to use this RFC destination. We do not use the
SAP Internet Mail Gateway (mailgw.ini and the executables).
Currently everything we send out via email goes as a ascii text, the
Internet node is set to the ASCIIPRI device type.
I just downloaded the ZPDF1 device type (note 317851. with this I
should be able to set my Internet node to use it. But, supposidly I
can set up a printer (via spad) to use this PDF device type. Then you
can print to this printer and the output is redirected to a email
address, or a distribution list.
When I try to add the output device (spad)to use ZPDF1 device type,
the Host Spool Access Method drop down does not contain a entry
for "M - email". Does anyone know how to get the "M" access method
defined?
I saw a presentation on using PDF, this is where I found you can have
a output deice defined and use it to send the email.
