Hi Charlie,
We installed solution manager on a W2000 server with an MS SQL database...
This is only a "small" server with 1gb memory, twin processors & about 20gb
hard disk.
The rest of our environment is ISeries. Our basis team have already config'd
the "Earlywatch" reports for dev, test & production. We are now waiting on
SAP to enlighten us on how to do the business process monitoring.
Unfortunately, they do not have anyone skilled in the UK to do
this.....maybe they should come to us for lessons..(he he he he - only
joking)
So, inshort, YES it can be done & works well.

The recommendation is to install solution manager on a standalone central
instance of WAS 6.10. My first thought was to setup a WinNT server for
WAS 6.10 and solution manager. I am now beginning to realize that I will
need to install some sort of a DB server for WinNT. I have also found a
statement that Heterogeneous SAP hardware environments of application
and database server are NOT supported on AS400.
Has anyone installed solution manager on a WinNT server in a AS400
network? If so, which DB did you use for the WinNT server?
