Hi Des Olwage,We have performed a codepage conversion on AUGUST and we are now in production
with SAP 4.6C SR2 ASCII(GLS), the 60% extra space during conversion is
correct......when you have ended the codepage conversion your system will be
more slow and the disk-data increase will be more fast than on EBCDIC version(we
have some problems on backup system still); we will expand our production system
with more RAM,CPU,DISKS and backup unit as soon as possible for this reason!(IBM
is very happy!!)

Hi, Sappers.
We are expecting to have to do the ASCII conversion sometime in the near future.
I have heard that the conversion requires about 60% extra disk space. Is this
more or less correct? Also, does the conversion place any other load on other
resources, e.g. CPU, memory, etc. We want to know whether we would ONLY require
extra disk for the conversion, or whether a CPU/memory upgrade would be
required.
