Antwort: Compatibility of V4R5M0 using IFS on a V5R1M0

In the beginning of this year we do the same upgrade with nearly the same
systems.
We had no problems in TMS with this two different OS release.

We have two AS400's for SAP. One is a 840 which is running our
production system, the other a 720 running DEV/TST. The 720 owns the
transport directories, the 840 has the symbolic link back to the 720
to share these directories. Currently both systems are running
V4R5M0. When we convert to V5R1 we will convert the 720 (dev/tst)
first, then let it run several weeks while making sure everything
runs. I know the V5R1 upgrade changes something in the IFS. Does
anyone know if our 840 still running V4R5 will be able to access the
transport directories which are on the 720 running V5R1?
