Problems with 4.6D TP - Patch Level 1246 and higher
Hi Everybody,It seems that newer versions of TP currently have a problem with their locking
mechanism. TP finds files of type <sid>.LOB, <user>.LOC or <task>.LOS in
/usr/sap/put/tmp and waits for 5 seconds before retrying. No other TP is running
and when you delete the file(s) in question, then the system recreates them in a
few seconds and the wait process begins again, even though the running TP was
responsible for creating the file. These files should only exist for a short
period and be deleted by the TP process itself, but for reasons which are still
not clear to us, the delete is not currently being performed.
At the moment the only solution is to use an older version of TP in order to
get around this problem. SAP is working on a solution and we will let you know
when it is available.
